
Bio: Karen Melissa Zea was born in Guatemala in 1977 and then migrated to the U.S. in 1980. Raised in Long Beach, California and now based in the Antelope Valley. Behavioral Interventionist turned Fine Art Photographer. She received her AA in Fine Art Photography, Fine Art Studio Arts, Social and Behavioral Sciences, and Humanities at College of the Canyons in Santa Clarita, California. Her Photographic series; Can You See Me, Circadian Rhythm, Losing Sight, Desaparecidas, The Pernicious Indoctrination of the Female Experience, Unrequited Love, and Sculpture Washout have been exhibited in several group shows such as the Fall 2023 Parallax Photo Fundraiser and Student Exhibition, the 2024 Parallax Photo Fundraiser and Student Exhibition, top ten in the 27th Annual Juried Student Art Exhibition, and the 2024 Parallax Photo End of Semester Exhibition. She acted as a Board Members; Treasurer for the Parallax Photo Club in Fall 2023 and is currently the 2024 Board Member; Secretary for the Parallax Photo Club. She currently works at College of the Canyons Art Gallery as a College Gallery Assistant.
